There are many insert nuts to choose from. The JET PRESS team is always ready to provide you with the best advice. In the meantime, here is a quick guide to some of the available options.

Type A or Type B is suitable for lightweight applications. They can be tapped into pre-drilled holes quickly and easily. External barbs prevent rotation and provide good pull-out resistance, especially in hardwood and plywood. Type A inserts are headless, so they can be embedded in wood for flush installation. Type B has a flange head to prevent pulling through when bolted from the bottom.

Due to the external self-tapping thread, the screw-in type D and E insert nuts provide greater retention and higher vibration resistance. Using a hex screwdriver or an Allen wrench, the hex head can be installed quickly, accurately and easily. This makes them very suitable for cork and particleboard. The flange on the D type ensures that the insert is screwed tightly to the wood surface, while the E type can be fully embedded in the pre-drilled hole

The I-shaped insert provides a neat finish and the head is visible. Large flange inserts distribute the load to a larger surface area on heavy components. P-type inserts ensure high pullout resistance and expanded brass, and X-type inserts hold tighter when bolts are screwed in and serrated.

There are many factors to consider when choosing the correct insert nut for your job. The thread size and length of the required insert are usually determined by the fixing device used and the thickness of the wood. And you must consider using the force in the joint inserted into the nut.

JET PRESS stocks a variety of professional parts that may be suitable for your application, and they are always happy to provide the best solution for your application.
